When my elderly parentsMom is 87 and Dad almost 91decided to move closer to us, we knew we were in for a challenge. They lived in Whitehorse for 25 years, and have been 'collectors' for decades :) We found them a house in Saskatoon with a wonderful realtor/friend here, who offered to find us a good realtor in Whitehorse. She found Mark, and we hit the jackpot. We spoke on the phone and I immediately knew this was the guy who could not just sell Mom and Dad's house, but deal with a situation that was not going to be a 'staged' home. He was positive, clear about his marketing plan, and sensitive to all our concerns about putting any pressure on my parents to 'clear out their house for showings.' That was simply not going to happen fast. It was up to my mother to sell, donate, sort, and pack up the house and we didn't want her feeling pushed to 'stage' the house for potential buyers. Mark understood that. He not only provided my parents with good advice, he offered moral support and extras above and beyond. When Mom did feel overwhelmed, he was there to help, encourage, and review their plan. He organized showings in such a way that would put my parents out of the house for the least stressful amount of time, and he was clear with potential buyers that they had to 'look beyond' my parents' stuff to see the potential. Mom and Dad not only got above their asking price by a significant amount, there were no conditions to contend with. Mark made a point to come by and meet us when we went up to help with packing, and we found him to be authentic, honest and genuine. In fact, we wouldn't hesitate for a second to not only recommend him, but to welcome him into our home should he ever be traveling through Saskatoon! He made a monumental move for my parents so much easier, and we will always be grateful for his expertise, help, good humour, and friendship.
